ABOUT ME
I am an urban planner turned freelance writer/journalist/budding
author. I am also a hip hop head, wife, afro sporter, yoga practitioner, reality show
junkie and avid reader.
After earning a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in urban planning from the University of Michigan, I moved to New York and started a career as an urban planner while doing a little freelance writing on the side, mostly album reviews and artist bios. After a few years, the passion of the pen took over and I began writing full-time, first freelancing for several publications and websites and then landing a staff writer position at New York Amsterdam News, where I am employed today.
While I steadily crank out articles at AmNews, I'm also working on my first novel and still dabbling in a little freelance work. Basically, I just love to write and I hope you enjoy what I'm inspired to create.
